Peas or chickpeas

The pea is rich in protein and is one of the oldest legumes cultivated by humans, with 7,500-year-old remains found in the Middle East.
Chickpeas are one of the main elements of Middle Eastern cuisine and are used to prepare broth and falafel.
Chickpeas are widely used in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Indian cuisines.

In 2019, India was the largest producer of chickpeas in the world, producing 70% of the world’s chickpeas.
